THERAPY /COUNSELING
THE LONGER I LIVE, THE MORE DEEPLY I LEARN THAT LOVE - WHETHER WE CALL IT FRIENDSHIP OR FAMILY OR ROMANCE - IS THE WORK OF MIRRORING AND MAGNIFYING EACH OTHER'S LIGHT

01 about
In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, I am committed to providing a space that is compassionate, warm, accepting, and understanding. I believe that gratitude is so important to our happiness and wellness, and the way that I choose to express my gratitude for being alive is by serving and helping others. We all live for and need connection, so creating meaningful relationships with my clients is my highest value in my clinical work. It is important for me to provide a safe space where you are allowed to be your authentic self - free from judgment and expectations. I will take time to listen, I want to hear your story, and I want to help you navigate the challenges you face with grace and compassion.
I am passionate about transformation at every level; within the lives of individuals, and by extension, the community and broader culture. I believe that kindness matters and is one of the greatest agents of change. As a Black Palestinian who has studied and lived in Palestine, I bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding of diverse cultures and the way our varied lived experiences impact how we understand ourselves and others. My upbringing in a diverse and multicultural family has instilled within me a deep sense and appreciation for the richness that different traditions, languages, and perspectives bring to our lives.
I am a mom of two boys, a sister to three siblings, and a member of a beautifully blended family. I love cooking and baking, insanely hot yoga, riding my motorcycle, my cat Charlie, and spending quality time with the people I love. I also might have access to a very special and secret, highly coveted, local hummus recipe.
02 my approach
You are unique.
And your therapy journey should reflect that.
I understand that healing is a holistic process encompassing the mind, body, and spirit. After establishing a safe relationship, we will work on a therapeutic approach right for you. We will loosely follow the outline below.
1. Awareness Stage. Sometimes we are unaware of what resides in our unconscious minds and thoughts. In the collaborative process, we will uncover thoughts, patterns, and behaviors in order to dive deeper.
2. Processing Stage. Our goal for you in this stage is to confidently articulate your feelings and beliefs in order for us to establish a therapeutic approach that resonates with you, empowering you to uncover your inner strength and resilience. I enjoy utilizing attachment focused, trauma informed interventions, the strength perspective, experiential, and cognitive behavioral theories.
3. Releasing Stage. After building awareness, utilizing therapy tools in processing, we will now enter the stage where you release what it was in order to engage in what could be.
